😱 What’s Causing These Mysterious Holes in Your Clothes?
Finding tiny holes in one shirt is annoying. Finding more and more holes appearing in your clothes can feel like a mystery!
One possible culprit is clothes moths or carpet beetles. Their larvae can damage fabrics, especially wool, fur, silk, feathers, and other natural materials. Often, the insects themselves are nowhere to be seen—the holes are the first clue.
But insects aren’t the only possibility. Bleach, stain removers, harsh laundry products, open zippers or hooks, and everyday friction can also weaken fabric and create holes.
🔎 Check your closets, drawers, carpets, and stored clothing carefully. Look for larvae, shed skins, webbing, or small cases. Washing or dry-cleaning affected clothing and thoroughly vacuuming storage areas can help control fabric pests.
