For years, Taiwanese artist Liang Renchuan walked the beaches collecting pieces of driftwood—and wherever he went, his loyal dog, Hachiko, was right beside him. 🐾

Their remarkable friendship began 14 years earlier, on one of the most difficult nights of Renchuan’s life.

It was the night of his father’s funeral when a stray puppy unexpectedly wandered into the funeral parlor. What began as a chance encounter soon became something much deeper: a lifelong friendship.

From that moment forward, Renchuan and Hachiko were rarely apart.

After storms, the pair would walk along Taiwan’s shores together. Renchuan searched the beaches for unusual pieces of driftwood that could inspire his artwork, while Hachiko explored happily by his side.

Back at the studio, their companionship continued.

Hachiko would stay nearby as Renchuan worked, watching him transform weathered pieces of wood into art. The dog became more than a pet—he became part of the artist’s everyday life and creative world. 🎨🐶
