😭💵 He Was 75% Sure He Left a Tip—But the Other 25% Wouldn’t Let Him Rest

Have you ever walked away from a restaurant and suddenly thought:

For 79-year-old ESPN writer Roberto José Andrade Franco, that little doubt didn’t disappear after a few minutes.

It stayed with him for weeks.

During a work trip to Los Angeles in May, Franco visited Langer’s Deli. After leaving, he began questioning whether he had properly tipped his waitress.

He was fairly confident he had.

Maybe 75% sure.

But that remaining 25% kept bothering him. 😭

And there was a reason the uncertainty mattered so much to him.

Franco had once worked as a busboy and waiter, so he understood firsthand how much tips can mean to restaurant workers.

Rather than simply shrugging it off, he decided to do something about it.

Weeks later, he mailed Langer’s $50 in cash, along with a letter asking the restaurant to locate the waitress who had served him and make sure she received it.

The restaurant eventually tracked her down.

And when they handed her the unexpected $50 tip, she was reportedly floored by the gesture. Her coworker, Frank Worster, also said she was especially deserving of the recognition. ❤️

He wasn’t even certain he had forgotten to tip.

He simply couldn’t live comfortably with the possibility that he might have.

So he sent another one.
